This unusual and distinctly Gothic hotel near the Pompidou Centre was once the presbytery of the 16th-century church of St. Merry. Part of this church now forms the wall of room number 9, while the clock tower cornice can be seen in the suite. The décor, with its Gothic woodwork, high-backed chairs, dark carved chests and tables, beamed ceilings and wonderful cast iron fittings, reveals a fascination with all that is medieval.
