After 1941, when Matisse went through a surgical operation, his work too underwent a transformation. He tried to represent explosions of pure color and a concept tending more and more towards signs and arabesques. This exhibition focuses on this period of intense originality and rejuvenation that Matisse called 'second life' where he needed to discover all things through a new and positive light. 80 paintings from this little explored phase of the painter's collections are being displayed at the Musée du Luxembourg. Tickets cost €10 for adults and €7 for under 26-year olds.
