This was originally the Museum of Ethnology, which displayed collections dating back to the 16th century from international expeditions undertaken by French explorers. It now showcases a broad range of sciences including paleontology, genetics, anthropology, ethnology and linguistic studies. The Paleontology department comprises of about 35,000 skulls, several hundred full skeletons with more than 50,000 items in the Prehistory section. You can check out the permanent collections, which include The Gallery of the Night Time in 1990, which demonstrates the slow process of knowledge through evolution of mankind. Or take a geographical tour from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego at the American Galleries and learn about the history of Native Americans from prehistory to modern days.
