Le Tambour Royal is a rarity: a 'serious' Parisian theater that does not hesitate to host musicals and other plays using music alongside its more traditional offerings like operas by Offenbach, a 19th century composer. What's more, the price is right (EUR12-EUR20). Opened in 1879, closed in 1928 and re-opened in 1988, this small Italian-style theater often hosts operas played by small companies.
